Natural Dye Printing

Embrace Nature with Eco Botanical Printing on Fabric and Paper

Impressions of foliage and flowers are transferred to natural fabric or paper, using close contact and heat, releasing the natural dye pigments within the plant. The botanical matter is arranged on silk fabric or paper, tightly bundled, and simmered in a pot of water (containing more leaves) for a short period of time. Unbundling your bundle is exciting, and seredipitious!

Book your place

In this workshop we will spend a few minutes foraging for some suitable leaves within the park, which you will then use to print onto a silk scarf which is yours to take home. We will also have time to dye some papers which can be used to make a small notebook.

Explore the art of Pottery

with Sylvia

This workshop offers an immersive day of creativity and fun in the beautiful setting the park offers and is suitable for both beginners and more advanced makers. At the end of the day you will have created a beautiful tea bowl which can be enjoyed in many years to come.

22nd February

Come and join ceramic artist Sylvia Sinel and hand-build your own Asian inspired tea bowl from clay. In the making, we'll use and incorporate material from the environment in the park, for example, imprint leaves, flowers and grasses, use sticks and rocks as tools...

We'll connect with nature whilst working on our bowls and enjoy the magical flow of being creative.

Journal workshop with Sandra

This practice promotes mindful engagement with natures and enhances understanding of plant biology, fostering a deeper connection with nature. By consistently journaling, we learn more about the natural world through observation and enquiry.

Once we have really looked at a tree and its parts and drawn it and written about it, it becomes more than something we walk past. It becomes part of our memory and knowledge bank.

“Carving stone into sculpture is an activity older than civilization itself.”

Stone carving is an activity where pieces of rough natural stone are shaped by the controlled removal of stone. Owing to the permanence of the material, stonework has survived which was created during our prehistory or past time
