The Power of the Beat - Drum making workshops

Rhythm is at the core of our being ... before we had ears to hear, we felt the Beat of our Mothers Heart pulsing through our cellular bodies.

Ancient sources tell us that the frame drum was not just a powerful symbol of Spiritual Presence, it was also an important tool in day to day life. Layne Redmond wrote about this in her book 'when the drummers were women' ...

" Skilled technicians in the use of the Medicine Drum knew which rhythms quickened the life in freshly planted seeds and which rhythms facilitated child birth."

The Creation of a Drum is a sacred act.

Through guided processes we help bring deeper awareness to our own creative process in which we honour both the animal and tree who have given their life so that we can help their Spirit live on through our drum and our drumming.

You needn't know how to play your drum as the drum teaches You ... there is no wrong way.
