Please see below a list of our most frequently asked questions.

    • 10.00 am till 5.00pm. The last arrival time is 3.30pm as the walk takes 1.5 hours.

    • The Park might close earlier if the weather is bad or unsafe. (For mid-winter please check website for Winter hours)

    • The park is open every day except Christmas Day.

    • No, you can come in without pre-booking but it is preferable to book on busy days - especially the 4th Sunday of the month - our dog walk day. Pre-booking is highly recommended to prevent delays with dogs close together.

    • We have eftpos available both at the entry and at the café.

    • Please let us know if you are organising more than 10 people to come.

    • We have parking for around 50 cars and buses

    • The café is open for casual visitors at weekends Spring, Summer, and Autumn and also on public holidays during those seasons. Barista coffee and a menu of snack and lunch options are available then.

    • On week days we serve Duck Island ice cream and cold drinks. Also Ozone plunger coffee and Zealong Tea.

    • Group bookings for the café for morning teas and lunches or celebrations ( please contact Sue Devonshire for a group booking – [email protected] or phone her work hours only please 0275670996)

    • We have special Dog Days on the 4th Sunday of every month when dogs are welcome with leads.

    • If your dog is a registered guide or assistance dog, you can bring the dog with you other days. Please notify staff at the entry kiosk.

    • We have a no dogs policy to encourage the return of wildlife to the park. If you have a dog with you, please ask the person at the entrance where the park provides an exercise area and place to park in the shade while you go for your walk or enjoy the café.

    • Because of the terrain, it is not possible to do a complete circuit on the 2km pedestrian trail using a wheelchair

    • Powered wheelchairs can get around most of the park on the good quality roads. Some of the roads are fairly steep and present a challenge to push unpowered wheelchairs. There are several flights of steps – these can be by-passed by using the road system.

    • For visitors with mobility issues who visit during the week, you can organise with the manager on duty to take a passenger up to the rock garden roundabout where the passenger could potentially get out and see more highlights of the park. This service is only for the disabled person and the designated driver. Please consult with the staff or volunteer at the entry kiosk.

    • We provide a map that shows where you may drive to and where you may park. It does not take you all around the park.

    • There are several flights of steps that make pushchairs/strollers difficult.

    • We recommend babies are carried in a front or backpack for the whole family to enjoy the experience

    • The trail is a circuit of 2km with side visits. The stairs can be by-passed by using the road network to see the majority of the park.

    • You are welcome to bring your own picnic – there are multiple sites where you can throw down a rug or use one of the seats. We ask that you take your rubbish home with you, please.

    • No. The park is designed for pedestrians to enjoy.

    • We have a unique sculptural bike rack created by Gail Jurisich to secure your bike near the Artist shelter.
