Natural Dye Printing
Embrace Nature with Eco Botanical Printing on Fabric and Paper
Impressions of foliage and flowers are transferred to natural fabric or paper, using close contact and heat, releasing the natural dye pigments within the plant. The botanical matter is arranged on silk fabric or paper, tightly bundled, and simmered in a pot of water (containing more leaves) for a short period of time. Unbundling your bundle is exciting, and seredipitious!
In this workshop we will spend a few minutes foraging for some suitable leaves within the park, which you will then use to print onto a silk scarf which is yours to take home. We will also have time to dye some papers which can be used to make a small notebook
