The Waikato Sculpture Trust enables a diverse audience to enjoy sculpture in a natural setting, raises the profile of contemporary sculpture and provides artists with an opportunity to use the variety of landscapes within a dedicated sculpture park to display their work.
The Trust was formed in May 2007, to encourage and support emerging and established artists to display their sculpture in an environment unique within New Zealand. It does this by:
The Trust works closely with the Sculpture Park @ Waitakaruru Arboretum to provide a venue that is now formally acknowledged as a Garden of Significance (NZ Gardens Trust). The Park has been the site for 20 sculpture exhibitions since it opened to the public in November 2004.
